Flight from Kuala Lumpur with air Asia to

There are daily flights to Medan international
airport from Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia, from
Singapore with Silk Air and from Jakarta with
Garuda as well as with other airlines. From
Medan you can travel directly to Kedah Rainforest
Lodges description and map below. If you prefer
a trip to Banda Aceh prior to Gunung Leuser
for diving and snorkeling on Pulau Weh, there
are daily flights from Medan to Banda Aceh.
Since April 2007, Riau Air started flights
from Medan as well as from Banda-Aceh to Kutacane
and Takengon. Upon request through our contact-form
we will inform you about updated schedules.
We assist you in planning your roundtrip through
Sumatra with Stopovers on Pulau Weh (diving,
snorkeling, swimming), in Takengon (coffee-plantations),
Simeulue (cosy island west of Sumatra), or

can offer door-to-door transfer with airconditioned
car, transfer early morning from your hotel
takes 9 hours to our lodge.

We also can offer you accommodation in Medan
from IDR 20.000,- (Backpacker-Losmen) to IDR
250.000,-/person/night.
From Banda Aceh takes 1,5 days with one night
accommodation in Takengon. Whereever from
your approach, you will have impressive sceneries
in landscaping of North Sumatra on your way
to Kedah Rainforest Lodges. |

Aceh, Lambaro roundabout Cut Nyak Dhien
Passing lefthand scenery paddy-fields,
righthand rainforest mountains of Jantho,
all overtopped by volcanoe Gunung Seulawah.
after appr 67km you reach the elephant
school of Cut Nyak Dhien. Do not be
disappointed by the lots of garbage
at the roadside and the monkeys, who
are begging along the road. This is
a bad development, which is not a sample
for the pristine rain forests we want
to show you in the Gayo highlands and
in central Aceh province. |

In the subdistrict of Bener Maria have
an eye on the coffee plantations, where
one of the world's best organic coffees
is growing. Before you reach Takengon
you should have a stop at the cafeteria
Singah Mata with a great view over Takengon
and lake Laut Tawar. In Takengon we
use to stay overnight in the Losmen
Batang Ruang. A very clean, cheap Losmen
with friendly and helpful owners, located
in the heart of Takengon. |

– Blankenjeren
In Blankenjeren you turn west at the
roundabout in direction to Penosan.
After another 13km you reach lefthand
the gate of Penosan. you pass the gate
through Penosan to Kedah. After another
2km through artificially terraced paddy-field
you find righthand the home of Mr. Jally.
Contact him, he will serve you first
a home made lemon tea and after he will
guide you to the rainforest lodges.
